New support for pancreatic cancer patients

KarenK's picture

Hi all,

Cancer Council has just launched an Understanding Pancreatic Cancer DVD, the first resource of its kind.

The DVD features patients and medical experts, who cover topics including loneliness, symptoms, surgery, nutrition and treatment.

Many pancreatic cancer patients that we speak to say that they struggle to understand their diagnosis and are unsure of where to turn to for support.

We hope it's helpful and would love to get your feedback.

Check out the DVD - www.cancercouncil.com.au/pancreaticcancer or call our Helpline 13 11 20 for more information.

Thanks,

Roadblocks to Radiotherapy

<none>'s picture

Hi all,

Last Friday (20 Nov) Stateline NSW ran a story on the problems facing cancer patients needing radiotherapy, based on some work we conducted here at CCNSW.

You can view the clip or read the transcript at this link http://www.abc.net.au/news/video/2009/11/20/2749328.htm

We have made a series of recommendations to the Government about fixing the problems, and hope that this latest report will prompt some action.

I'd be interested in your thoughts.

regards
Anita
