Feeling like this is the end of the world... I know I have to try and be strong for my wife and 2 young children but its so hard. I don't want to loose my life partner and their mother...what do I tell the kids?
How long does it take from diagnosis to get on with the treatment? Any advice to help me and my wife get through these early days? Thanks

Cancer Connect..So Helpful

I found the Cancer nurse, and a parent of a cancer survivor so helpful this week.
After a painful session with a Psychiatrist about my depression and why after 5 years ( my daughter now has 5 year all clear from NHL) I still cant let it go, I rang the helpline in despair and they were so helpful. Would you believe that I am normal??? And my feelings about letting go are normal???
I don't think that people on the other side of the planet, i.e, non-cancer people, can ever get it, no matter how learned they are.

My beautiful dad come home to us last Tuesday after 12 weeks in hospital, on Wednesday mum cared for dad during the day while I was at work, when I got home from work dad was very unwell, high temp, laboured breathing, I called the CNC & he suggested we take him to the ED at JHH, we arrived at 8pm, they were amazing, on arrival dads temp was 39,pulse 178,oxygen level 80%,started dad on antibiotics, done all tests. Dads stomach peg was infected so at 1st they thought that was the problem, after xrays they discovered dad had pneumonia.

Mum has stage 2 uterine cancer and they aren't performing a hysterectomy- I'm confused and concerned

Hello, I'm new here and feeling a bit confused by my mum's diagnosis and treatment.
Around 10 days ago mum hemorrhaged and went to emergency where she was admitted and a biopsy was performed. A few days later she got the news that she had uterine cancer but, as it was her first sign of symptoms, we assumed it would be stage 1. Well, today we found out that it's stage 2, which isn't the worst news but it's worse than we were expecting.

Everything Crossed

My Darling Husband has his operation tomorrow, bowel cancer, has completed chemo and r/therapy.
Had to have stent put in for kidney stones last week, another issue to be addressed next year.
He is to have a permanent stoma, as the tumor is too low down to be resectioned, then more chemo.
He's putting on a brave face, but sometimes the cracks appear.
He knows that we are all here for him.

It's not going to be easy but together we will do it.
