I have justretired after practicing as a Dorothy Hall trained Herbalist after 28 years sucessfully treating both internal and skin cancers primarily.
I wish to share my philosophy about the causes of cancer and my sucessful treatment programs.

My name is Sandra, I turned 29 this year. In December last year, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 ovarian cancer. I've nearly finished my chemo treatments and would like to stay in touch with a support network. My friends and family have been incredibly supportive and I'd like to offer my support and experience to others.
During the day, I work as a Sustainability Consultant and am keen to take up new hobbies once my energy levels are back.

In January 2012 I was diagnosed with a squamous cell carcinoma on the left side of my tongue, coupled with localised spread to the sub-mandibular lymph node on the mid-line of my chin / neck. I underwent partial glossectomy (removal of tongue tissue), and neck dissection (removal of all but one lymp node. Luckily, there was no spread to any other nodes. I've had 6 weeks of radiation on my tongue and neck, and two doses of chemo. This all concluded on April 27, 2012. The treatment was a success, and I am now in remission. Outside of my diagnosis, I'm married, 43 years old and have a 7yo daughter (as at Aug 2012). Just getting back into work now. I've lost both parents and a sister to this rotten disease, and I'm the first member of my family to survive.

Diagnosed with triple negative stage 2 breast cancer in January 2013.
It had spread to my lymph nodes so I had to have a right mastectomy and axillary dissection.
About to start 6wks of chemo followed by 6wks of radiation.
Having genetic testing in march for gene mutations such as BRAC.

72yr old female,diagnosed 8 days before Xmas 2012 with Pancreatic cancer which has metastasized to liver. Have started clinical trial PAN1 and have had two treatments with Gemcetabine.

Im a 33 year old female with 3 children and have Adenoid cystic carcinoma . I was diagnosed with it march 2012. I have had my major salivary gland out with unclear margins. I have 3 mth checks and so far all clear.

Atypical carcinoid syndrome on 120 mg Lanreotide autogel injection every 4 weeks
Many carcinoid crisis situations for over 10 years - now under control on medication
Diabetes type 2 from injections. Melanoma removed 2010
Supra ventricular tachycardia, heart murmur & leaky heart valves.

My dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer around 10 months ago, and any kind of support from other people who understand what we are going through would be a great help.

Mum of 4 children, 4 grandchildren. Diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in April 2012. Bone mets and lung mets.

My husband was diagnosed with a brain stem glioma in May 2012.

Hello, I am 54 years old and was diagnosed with a pancreatic net tumor in April 2012. The diagnosis came as a complete surprise as I had been feeling well up til then. I am married and have three young adult children, my youngest turned 21 yesterday. I work part-time as a psychologist.

Hi. Iam a 49yo male diagnosed with bowel cancer Sept 2011.
Undergone Radio & chemo therapy Oct-Nov 2011.
Bowel resection Dec 2011. with temp iliostomy, reversal July2012.
Mop up chemo Dec - May 2012.
Now diagnosed (13 Feb) with 1x 27mm tumour to lower lobe of liver.
Seeing surgeon 25 feb.

I'm 47 years old and was diagnosed with bowel cancer in November 2012. I've finished 6 weeks of radiation and chemo, and am booked for surgery 12 March.
I have a wonderful partner, two gorgeous children and a close-knit group of friends.

Have had diagnoses Pancreatic cancer had surgery and have now started chemo,no good recovery results am just trying to GET ALONG my decision to join was the result of reading the sad news of the family and the Doctors response on TRUTHFULLNESS it took several visits and one very angry husband to finally get the truth of my results, fobbed off is not the answer when time is short ,my sincere best wishes to you and your family may there be peace for you all Barbara Qld

I am nearly 40, a marries stay at home mum of three ( 16, 14, 11 ) I live in Queensland, I love my family and my animals!

My best friend, my mother, passed away on 12 August 2012 from stomach cancer that had spread to the bowel and pancreas.
I am married with a toddler, and am striving to stay brave, but am haunted by flashbacks and nightmares of my mother's terrible pain and suffering.

My mum has just been diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer with mets on her liver and lungs. She is 62.

My husband has been diagnosed in February 2009 with oesophageal cancer and it has spread to his abdomen. We have two sons, aged 6 & 8. We have been trying to keep things as 'normal' as possible for them throughout our journey to date, it is a constant challenge. We have a new 'normal'. Am interested in communicating with others who have similar aged children on coping strategies etc, but also just connecting with people who know first hand how it feels to have cancer invade their family. *** Update December 09, CT scan reveals secondary tumour on the brain, prognosis not good*** ### Update June 2010, Greg (my husband) passed away on 30th May 2010 ###

First to all that reads this my heart goes out to you. I lost my dad to acute myloid leakumia when I was 3 my sisters were 1 and 5. It's been hard growing up without a dad and understanding that loss from cancer I was tested but was too young to give blood hence I have the same blood type as my dad.
I now live knowing about cancer and came to the conclusions that it can happen anywhere
And anytime

I just lost my husband

Recently diagnosed with Carcinoid syndrome. Carcinoid tumour found initially in small intestine, and disease has spread around abdomen and into Liver. Taking Octreotide. Have a PET scan booked for next Tuesday. CT done last week suggests too many tumours in Liver to operate now, so chemo will probably be needed first with a review on surgery options in 3 months. I'm 47 and live in Sydney with my husband and 2 sons

My husband was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme IV in September 2011. He had a resection followed by radiation and Temodar. His tumor returned in October 2012. He was put on a trial - Avastin/MetMab. After 9 weeks, it didn't work. Now we are looking at AMGT595, GDC0084 or continue on Avastin with a chemo drug.

Hi, I'm Tracey, I'm 33 years old and last week I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I have had regular pap smears since I was 18 and have never had one come back with abnormal cells until late last year. Had a second smear done mid January and abnormal cells were still there, so two gynocologist appointments, a colscopy and a cone biopsy later I was given the unfortunate news that it is cancer.

I am 35 years old and from the northern nsw area and in august 2010 i was diagnosed with advanced oesophogeal cancer wich has also been detected in my lymphatic system and have started treatment with chemotherapy and radiaition around the middle of september.

31 years old, my dad has pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed just under 2 weeks ago.

No known timeframe of Staging yet.

This is my first foray into on-line discussions - and I'm not sure how I'll feel, but happy to give it a go! I'm a 45yo mother of 2 teenage girls (no sympathy required, they're fabulous) and working part-time - I love my work/life balance. In '06 I had a double mastectomy for breast cancer and a pretty good re-construction. Getting cancer was not a surprise, even at 42yo - I'd known i carried a cancer gene for about 10 years at that stage. The only surprise was the cancer type. The mutation I carry is HNPCC which has affected various family members typically with bowel cancer and endometrial cancer. It is also known to predispose to ovarian and renal cancer amongst others. So breast cancer was not on my radar. Fortunately, along with taking medical advice, i also listened to my mother! She always maintained our gene was linked to breast cancer - she grew up in the wimmera with many descendants of the Westerndorf family (who migrated from Germany and brought the HNPCC mutation with them)and saw many both close and distant relatives affected by breast cancer. Hence, the mammograms and ultrasounds I had annually on her advice paid off. Always listen to your mother!
Our family has directly benefited from the amazing research into genetic causes of cancer undertaken around the world, but especially right here in Melbourne. I wanted to help, so have for the last 2 years also been doing some volunteer consumer work. Really enjoying the role.
Also, together with some other more 'tech-savvy' people, we're hoping to begin a site for HNPCC affected people - perhaps a home page with good general information, links to other relevant sites, and the opportunity for communication and support, so this is a starting point for me!

I am a mother of two adult children. Divorced but have a partner. I'm a published author. I love music, travel and cats, of which I have 5. I am 51 years old. My dear friend, Jenni, died of a glioblastoma in 1999.
