i'm 35 years old and live with partner and daughter in northern nsw. In July 2012 my dad (59) had a craniotomy to remove a brain tumour. It was diagnosed as a Glioblastoma multiforme. (grade IV). It's been a a turbulent journey. So much sadness and disbelief. Such a shock in the beginning...and now it's the new normal...although i hate the fact so much.I try to spend lots of time with my dad. He's finished his treatment now (raditation and chemo). He's become depressed and is getting help for that....I've had some wonderful times with him in the last few months and hope for many many many more great times.

Hi, im a year 12 student looking for help in supporting my mum who was just diagnosed with Melanoma a couple of weeks ago and people to talk to for when things get tough.

I am a wife to Bill and mother to three adult children with 5 grandchildren. I love my community work and am working hard with the Cranbourne-Narre Relay for life 2013.
I also have a strong family history of Breast cancer, bowel cancer and Pancreatic cancer.

I'm a wife mother of two and granmother to four teenagers and live in regional n.s.w.with my retired husband and our little moodle called tinker.
I love gardening, play table tennis twice a week, very involved with pink ladies at the hospital and go travelling in our motohome whenever possible and involved with our local church.
I was diagnosed with vipoma five years ago and because it is such a rare tumour i find it hard to get any information or be able to talk to anyone about the way I feel and what I should be doing

My son Harry is 14 and last year was diagnosed with a JPA in his thalamus. He had surgery in June and they managed to get 80% but the price for that was an aquiried brain injury. We had to privatly do the rehab as the kids hospital would not treat us.
Now he is slowly getting more symptoms back and I want to connect with other parents who have had a similar journey.

My partner, who I will refer to as CR, has Stage IV Metastatic Lung Cancer. According to her practitioner she shouldn't have survived this long let alone do the things that she does. Her family doesn't know that she has it and she refuses to tell them; I am the only one who knows the extent of her health.

She and I are very much into reptiles, owning several Tiger Snakes, Copperheads and White Lipped Snakes at one point, many Skinks and other Lizards as well as Frogs and Poisonous Spiders. She has even gone as far as starting a business based upon the education of such animals to the public, preferring people to treat them with respect and curiosity rather than fear and wanting to Kill them.

We are due to be married sometime this year, in a Wiccan ceremony.

I'm 38, married with no children. Always very close to my family in particular my "daddy" who has spent the last year battling throat cancer to be told in Dec he was cancer free and now in March it's back, nasty and terminal. We don't know how long we have, and it's destroying the family...

Age 55, Radical Prostectomy 2011,rising PSA, Chemo, PSA dropped but now rising again. Presently 0.98 and 3 month checks waiting till PSA between 5-10 and then Hormone treatment - sounds familiar?

I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2006 and under went an operation to remove the tumour and then post op treatment involving nine weeks of chemo. I worked thru the treatment which helped keep me sane as it gave me somewhere to hide from the dark terror.

I am now happily recovered with my and looking forward to a long healthy life with my beautiful wife and two children. Life is good.

Hi I'm a 48yr old female,diagnosed with colon cancer 4/9/12 surgery and half way through chemo Exloda,because I take the tablets at home I find I have no other person with the same thing as I don't go into the oncologist ward for the IV chemo.

My Dad has just been told he has lung cancer.He also has a tumour in the brain and that he has 6-8 months....

Hi, I'm 45 , healthy, generally happy and quite fit !

I am a 30 year old female and my uncle has pancreatic cancer. He had a procedure called whipples back in November. He had 6 weeks of Radio and Chemo together, and then was meant to continue for 6 months on Chemo. They have just done a body scan and found cancer in his stomach, and said it is back now in the pancreas.

I am wife and carer to husband who has just started Chemo for leukaemia, we have a 16yr old son doing year 11. I am still working and running the house and taxi-sevice to and from school.

My partner has NH Diffuse large B-cell Lymphoma, he was diagnosed at stage 3 back in July '12.
After had 20 weeks of chemo, including R-Chop, R-Ice, there was still presence of active Lymphoma. He was then admitted into hospital for the Beam Chemo, along with his Stem Cell Reinfusion. He was in hospital for over 3 weeks. It has been a long road for us, but we were very positive and we took one day at a time.

After all my partner's treatments, and after the results of his latest PET Scan, the results were not what we wanted to hear. We were fully expecting the words 'cancer gone & in remission' but devastatingly his cancer has turned terminal, and there is nothing more that the doctors can do for him. So they tell us

They said the cancer is aggressive and have given him anywhere from 2 months to 2 years to live...we are praying for the latter. I am going to stop work for now so I can spend every precious moment with him. I'm not even sure if I can afford to do this, but at this stage I don't care as I want to spend every moment with him.

We are still praying for some kind of miracle, and wishing this nightmare to stop. I don't want to live without this beautiful man by my side, I don't know what to do. He has been through so much and has shown so much courage and strength.

He has amazed me & all our family & friends. He is obviously scared right now but still holding himself together for us that are around him. Please help, we need more support than ever now.....thank you

I am 26 with a one year old and 14 weeks pregnant with my second. I lost my husband quickly just 3 weeks ago

My husband has Melanoma. It is 6 years since he was diagnosed with metastic malignant melanoma. In his initial treatment he had 32 lymph nodes removed from his neck/shoulders. Although he makes regular visits to Peter Mac and there are no visible issues, he is very depressed and it comes through as aggressive behaviour toward me. I am here because I know that I need help

We have 2 dogs 1 cat 1 bird and 2 fish.
My life is so busy and it keeps my mind from thinking of my husbands cancer.

My husband was diagnosed with advanced metastatic prostate cancer. He has undergone a radical prostectomy and chemo. His PSA level contines to rise.

Carer to husband who has Follicular Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (diagnosed 2006) and mother to a 5 year old boy.

I am a retired NSW Ambulance Paramedic for 22 years. In my time I've met many cancer patients and now I am one.
I migrated to Australia as a twenty-one year old in 1970 from Germany.

I am 20 years old, Last year I had a seziure at work and that was when I was diagnosed with a grade 3 brain tumor. It has now been 11months since I started on my first lot of Chemo and Radiation. My doctors are now wanting to operate and remove the tumor. I am scared but this is a good thing isn't it?
I mean does this mean once it's gone I can go back to my normal life?
Really hoping this is the last of treatment!
