Q. Why do I have to supply my email address to join the forum?
A. We need to send you an email to give you a secure way of confirming your registration. We may also need to send you messages from time to time informing you of changes to the site. Your email address and all other personal information will be stored securely at all times.
Q. Will other people be able to see my email address?
A. No. Your email address is hidden from other people. The website allows you to send messages to a friend. This is done through the Personal Message function or 'PM' to send a secure message directly to that member. If you choose to send this person your details, you do so at your own risk.

A. Sure, but you cannot post anything that promotes a business or profit making enterprise. Nor can you post links to anything obscene or offensive. See the 'Terms and Conditions of Use' section of this site for more detail.
Q. What should I do if someone asks for my contact details or wants to arrange a meeting?
A. We recommend that you do not give out your personal contact details. Our 'Terms and Conditions of Use' ask you to protect your identity. If you pass on your details you do so at your own risk. We recommend that you contact the Adminstrator if someone asks for your details.
Q. Will any Cancer Council NSW staff be directly involved in the forum?
A. The Administrator of the site is a full-time employee of Cancer Council NSW and the whole site comes under Cancer Council NSW responsibility. However, the purpose of the forums is to provide a reliable, secure and useful meeting place for cancer patients, carers, survivors, friends and relatives to help them support each other. The home page has links to the Cancer Council NSW website, which can connect you to our wide range of information and services.
Occasionally we feature live online chats with inspirational people and health professionals. These will be promoted well in advance to give everyone a chance to participate.
Q. What is an Avatar and how do I use one?
A. An Avatar is the name used to describe a picture or symbol that appears next to your username as a way of identifying yourself and personalising your identity. You can upload your own when you register.
