Uni Life

Every now and then I think I am kidding myself if I think I can study after a brain injury!
It is twice as hard for me to do anything: concentrate, read a line from a textbook then remember it long enough to type it into an essay, and furthermore - why did I think I could do an art degree. There was a time when I couldn't even grip a pencil, now I am trying to do subjects like Textiles, Printmaking and Sculpture and while I am still passing (just) everything feels so laboured. I suppose this is the hill I was talking about in my introduction and I should just suck it up!

Re: Uni Life

Arent we humans amazing when we put our mind to something? I think its great with what you are doing as long as you are being kind to yourself and focusing on what you can do with acceptance and not what you cant. Studying is challenging for anyone in the beginning. All the learned behaviour that is necessary can take its toll.

Many many people feel laboured with it even when they have not been through what you have. Be kind to yourself, give yourself permission to take it as easy as you can, and above all celebrate "you" every single day.

Warmest wishes for a peaceful easter and sending lots of energy your way.
