Rest in Peace my friend

Jules2's picture

My dear friend passed away today. She was an amazing woman and we had a short and yet wonderful friendship for approx one year. We first met when we both undergoing treatment in Perth. We soon learnt that we knew a lot of people that the other knew and yet had never met one another till then. Such a good time was had at Milroy, as good as it can get when both are undergoing radiotherapy. We had some amazing conversations that were honest and shared tears together aswell as some laughs. An amazing and brave person who has had a profound impact on my life. RIP 'J' you will always be remembered. xx

Hi DaphneRose

Thank you for your kind words Smile. I think you are right in regard to memories ... nothing can ever take those away. My friend was one of those very special people who was able to give so much, such a beautiful person.

Re: Rest in Peace my friend

Hi Sailor

THank you and I am sorry to hear of the passing of your friend. I am glad your friend received a good send off and one fitting to the life he lived. I am sure that my friend will have a fitting funeral as she was an amazing person. When we share experiences such as 'being diagnosed with cancer' we already have a knowing of one another. Then if you happen to like the other person and get along well it can be an incredible basis for a friendship. Time doesn't always measure friendships all that well.

I was blessed to have my friend in my life even for a short time and we had times of much laughter, especially when we stayed at the cancer council place in Perth. My friend was like me and willing to give most things a go ... even relaxation classes and we had a giggle afterwards about something the instructor phrased to us all.

The funeral is next week so I am sure that will be challenging.

Thank you

Julie

Hello Jules,

So sad to hear your news. I sometimes think, what we really have in essence are memories and it sounds like you have some of the best kind.

My thoughts are with you.

Keep strong and stay happy

Re: Rest in Peace my friend

Dear Jules

Sorry to hear about your friend. It is amazing the friendships that we can make in such a short time and I guess that make it all the more poignant.

Yesterday I was at the funeral of a another remarkable person that I have known for sometime. He must have set a record as he had been receiving treatment for cancer for forty three years. Quite remarkable is all that he did and his attitudes to life over all that time. The church was packed for his funeral - a good send off.

As you say - Rest in Peace.
