Comparing Pony Tails

My son shaved his head on the weekend to raise money for Ronald McDonald house and now we can compare pony tails.
Mine was longer than his and his won out in the thickness stakes. Am so very proud of him, he has lost all his beautiful locks and by done so by his own choice.

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Hey Dave
I am the same re fb ... provides a distraction and allows me to stay in touch with the world (sort of).
Ahhh dont stress about talking about yourself. That is what this is about, it gives us an opportunity to do so and to talk to others. Having cancer and treatment makes us a little self absorbed i think, least thats my observation of myself from time to time.
Have a raging easterly here which i am over already and they have only just started. lol Hope you have a good swim.

G'day Everyone
One thing to shave heads, but remember this is November - or should I say Movember.
Who has grown the largest moustache for mens cancers! There is still time.

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Hiya Dave
It is natural to feel down sometimes and absolutely normal after what you have gone through. Just hang in there and it will get better. You are good re thinking of getting back to work. I am only just considering that now as I have been suffering from fatigue after the treatment. You are coming down after the high of getting through your treatment ... just be kind to yourself.
how did you go with the pool did you get it all sparkling?
I ate a lot of icecream as I went through treatment. If i felt my tongue burning after a zap then i would grab an icecream. Drank a lot of ice cold water, not sure if it all helped but i managed to come out relatively unscathed.
I don't see aggi at charlies and have heard she is pretty out there. Got given one of her handouts when I first went there and it was a very strict regime. I see someone else there and he is great.
What do you mean by talking 1 sided?
Take care and hope you have a good day.

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Hi julie,
Well up bright and early again,I seem to spend a lot of time on FB lately, no use laying around, 1 sided i seem to always ramble on about myself, haha, but hopefully it illustrates me, I tend to drink coldish water opposed to icy cold as the latter dries me up really quick.
Talk later and have a nice day.
The Pool looks great and will give it a test drive.

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Hi Dave
Everything is ok here thanks. I forgot to mention to you not to forget about jelly .... great for sliding down the throat.
THe feeling of being forgotten is not an isolated feeling. A lot of people feel that way and really struggle after being under the umbrella of a hospital and daily treatment.
Are you at freo for your ENT? I am up there next week for a clinic appointment and at charlies the day before for dental.
If you click on groups up the top of this page and then go into the head and neck group, from there you should be able to either create a new post or tag on the end of another post and just put it in there.
How are you travelling at the mo?
Rgds

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Hi Julie,
How have you been since the last we talked?? Hope evrything is riding well with you.
Hope to talk to Cathy in the nest few days and touch base with her,I seem to be in the forgotten land at the moment, i mean that by leaving RPH after RT and waiting for my ENT appointment which as of today they have put back a further 2 weeks, that made me feel a bit lost.anyway enough complaints, otherwise keeping busy cleaning the pool and may go for a dip moo, starting to getter warmer.
Was gonna share some of this with the group as well, but i really don't know where to put it still.HAHA
Cheers

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Thank you reindeer, it was wonderful and I was very proud of him. His ponytail was nearly as long as mine albeit a lot thicker.
I am sure the money raised will do good also. As far as I know it goes towards the ronald mcdonald houses where parents and kids can stay during their illness. I saw it on tv once and it looked really great.
thanks again
Julie xx
Re: Comparing Pony Tails
How wonderful that your son cut off his locks for Ronald McDonald House, Jules.
I'm sure the money raised will be put to good use.
Warm Regards,

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Hey Dave
Thanks and yes I was very proud of him. Big thing for a young 22 year old with long hair (suited to more head banging apparently .. lol) to shave it all off voluntarily. He was happy though and they raised nearly 200 dollars ontop of whatever was raised via the burgers.
things should start settling down for you soon, in the beginning it seems to take ages but before you know it you will be looking back on how much things have changed.

Re: Comparing Pony Tails
Good on him Julie, I Know quite a few men and 1 lady at work also participated in this for the kids and also we had 1 girl in the team that climbed part of Mount Blanc recently to raise money for a machine for PMH, on a lighter note i would have gone for the Movember moustache but due to having no facial growth at the moment is not possible.
